When I was 7 years old, I read Harry Potter for the first time. When I found out that it had been written in English and translated into Italian, I decided that when I grew up I would translate all the next books in the series in my language.
So I have to admit, as it ended up, I didn't translate those books, but I did stick with translation. I graduated in translation, studied many different languages, and started my own translation business.
Fueled with a lot of coffee and books, I choose the right words to rewrite my clients' words in Italian. Starting from the English or Spanish, I study the message, the target audience, and the goals of my clients' materials and I translate them into Italian to help them reach the people of my country.
I am a big fan of travel writing because one of my great passions is traveling. I also adore translating marketing texts because it takes so much creativity and excellent writing skills!
And then audiovisual translations: I translate scripts for dubbing studios, and for companies and professionals, I subtitle many different types of videos, from informational to promotional.
It lets me discover so many new things, delve deep into new topics, and never stop learning. I attend many training and continuing education courses in all my professional areas. I read a lot and keep well informed. All this lets me keep on improving and expanding my knowledge and skills.
What other job gives you the chance to do this every day?!
Though many translators are solitary workers, I love to work in teams. I work with many colleagues on all sorts of projects, and I like to stay in a dialogue with my clients' teams of linguists so we can join forces and perfect the job.
I've worked with so many clients from all over the world, including Italy, United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Singapore, and China... All from different worlds and cultures but with the common goal of communicating with their Italian customers!
I'm a translator from English and Spanish to Italian. I find the perfect words to recreate my clients' texts in my language, carefully choosing the right words to fit their style, their message, and their goals.
